Sample Radio Calls for Non-Towered Airport Operations
1. Initial Call When Approaching the Airport
“Springfield Traffic, Cessna 123AB, 10 miles west, inbound for landing, Springfield.”
Purpose: Let others know you’re approaching and plan to land.
2. Entering the Traffic Pattern
“Springfield Traffic, Cessna 123AB, entering left downwind Runway 27, Springfield.”
Purpose: Announce joining the standard traffic pattern on the downwind leg.

4. Turning Final Approach

8. Go-Around or Missed Approach
